This page says which personal data Wohnprobe processes, why, and who receives it. In short: Wohnprobe sets no cookies, doesn’t measure visits and shows no ads. We only store data about you if you order, have an account or write to us.
Controller
Werkmind OG, Am Rechen 19, 3380 Pöchlarn, Austria
Email: hello@wohnprobe.at
Write to the same address with questions about data protection and to exercise your rights. We have no data protection officer, because the law doesn’t require one for us.
Website and hosting
The website runs on Netlify, Inc. (USA). On every visit Netlify processes the data needed to serve it: IP address, time, page, browser and operating system. This keeps the website running and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The domain and the map tiles with the places run on Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which also processes the IP address.
Address search and report
When you search an address or make a report, your browser sends the search text, or the location and size of the area, to the services the report is built from. As with any request on the internet, these services see your IP address. They don’t learn who you are. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR: you ask for the report, and there is no report without these requests.
- Address search: komoot GmbH (Germany)
- Maps and aerial photos: OpenFreeMap, EOX IT Services GmbH (Austria), basemap.at (Austria), City of Vienna
- Terrain model: Amazon Web Services, Inc. (USA)
- Public bodies in Austria: Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management (hazard zones, noise), GeoSphere Austria, Federal Ministry of Finance (broadband atlas), RTR-GmbH (speed tests), Statistics Austria
- Seismic hazard: ETH Zurich (Switzerland). This request goes through our server, so ETH doesn’t receive your IP address.
The address you search is a place, not information about you. We don’t store searches or reports, unless you save a report in your account.
Location
When you tap “Use my location”, your browser asks for permission. The location stays in the browser and is used like a searched address, so it is sent as an area to the services above. We don’t store it.
Browser storage
Wohnprobe sets no cookies. The page keeps what it needs to work in your browser’s storage (local storage):
- your language,
- recently loaded data for areas you checked, so a report loads faster next time; the page removes older entries itself,
- your details for the PDF (name, agency, contact, logo), so you don’t type them every time,
- your session, if you are signed in.
This storage is strictly necessary for the service (§ 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). You can delete it in your browser at any time. The name and note for a PDF’s recipient stay in the open window and never reach us.
Shared links
A shared link holds the area and the place name, no data about you. When a chat app opens the link, our server draws a preview image of the area. Nothing is stored.
Purchases
You pay for a pack with Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland). Stripe collects your email address, name, payment details and, where needed, your billing address; for agents also the agency and VAT number. Stripe processes the payment, sends the receipt and invoice and screens payments for fraud, also with Stripe, Inc. (USA). We never see your card details. From Stripe we receive the pack, the amount, your email address and your name, to put the reports in your account (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR). Invoice records are kept by us and by Stripe for seven years (§ 132 of the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code).
Accounts
Your account is made with your first purchase, under the email address you pay with. For an account we store:
- email address, name, agency, phone number and logo,
- the reports you save (area and title) and the places you unlock,
- sign-in times.
This performs the contract for using Wohnprobe (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data is held by Supabase, Inc. (USA) on servers in the EU. Sign-in links are sent through Resend (USA). We keep the data while your account exists and delete it within 30 days after you or we close the account, unless a law requires us to keep it longer.
Contact form and emails to us
When you write to us, through the contact form or by email, we process your name, address, topic and message to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Messages from the form are held by Supabase, Inc. (USA) on servers in the EU. Cloudflare forwards mail sent to hello@wohnprobe.at to our mailbox at Google Ireland Limited (Ireland). We keep it as long as the request needs; business correspondence is kept for seven years (§ 132 of the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code).
Transfers to the USA
Netlify, Cloudflare, Amazon Web Services, Supabase, Resend and Stripe, Inc. are based in the USA. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR) or, where a provider isn’t certified, on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).
No analytics, no ads
Wohnprobe uses no analytics or advertising services, builds no profiles and makes no automated decisions about you.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Write to hello@wohnprobe.at. If you think we process your data wrongly, you can complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.
Changes
When Wohnprobe changes, we update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version. Accounts are also governed by our terms and conditions.
